Stark County Sherriff’s Office Makes Arrest in Fatal Hit Skip Crash

(East Canton, Ohio) – A suspect in a fatal hit skip crash that occurred in July 2018 has been arrested by the Stark County Sheriff’s Office.

On Thursday, November 29th, 2018 the Stark County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested 22-year-old Alex M. Mound of East Canton in connection with the crash that occurred Saturday, July 14th, 2018.

In cooperation with the Canton Metro Crash Team, the investigation determined that 30-year-old Brianna M. Lilly of Canton had been walking in the area of Mapleton St. SE and Dalemont Avenue SE in Canton Township when she was struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene. Lilly succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the crash.

Mound was arrested without incident and has been charged with the following:

4 counts of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide (F1, F2, F2, F3)

1 count of Failure to Stop After an Accident (F3)

1 count of Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol, a Drug of Abuse, or Combination (M1)

1 count of Driving Under Suspension (M1)
